Polycystic ovarian syndrome

PCOS is a common hormonal and metabolic disorder that affects 5-15% of women in the reproductive age

Symptoms of PCOS is due to androgen excess, ovulatory dysfunction, polycystic ovaries and often insulin resistance

There is dysfunction of the hypothalamic pituitary ovarian axis, characterised byabnormal secretion of gonadal hormones (increase FSH, LH and testosterone)
